Student member applicants must be a current law student enrolled in a Securities Arbitration or Law Clinic and/or be employed by a PIABA Member. Upon receipt of a Student Member application, it usually takes three days to finalize the review and admission process. In general, Student Members have access to the on-line PIABA Bar Journal, Awards and Arbitrator Databases, PIABA Bar Journal Articles, Expert Resources and Student Membership Directory.
PIABA Student Members may participate on the students list serve. Student Members may attend the PIABA Annual Meeting, including the Member Closed sessions, the PIABA Annual Business Meeting, and serve on PIABA committees (with the approval of the PIABA President).
Student Member Qualifications
At a minimum, PIABA Student Membership qualifications include:
- the applicant must be a current law student enrolled in a Securities Arbitration or Law Clinic and/or be employed by a PIABA member;
- if enrolled in a Clinic Program, the Clinic Director or Associate Director must be a PIABA Member;
- if employeed by a PIABA member, the member must be in good standing with PIABA;
- applicants must agree to immediately inform PIABA, in writing, if they cease to meet any of the qualifications.
